Infants 6-12 months will learn to hold their breath under water, float unassisted, and roll-back to float from various positions in the water. They will learn to float until someone arrives to get them out of the water.
Children 1-6 years will be taught the "swim-float-swim" sequence. They will first learn to hold their breath in the water, swim with face in and eyes open, and roll-back to float. They will be instructed to repeat the sequence until they reach the side or someone arrives to get them out of the water.
Children older than 6 years who cannot swim and/or float, can also benefit greatly from ISR Lessons!
ISR instruction requires a commitment from the parent, and is more than worth it! For a child to become skilled at Aquatic Self-Rescue, daily instruction is necessary and is conducted according to the child's individual needs. Every ISR Lesson is one-on-one, and tailored to each individual student.
Lesson Structure
- Lessons are 10 minutes one-on-one, 5 days per week, M-F
- Lessons take 6-8 weeks to complete (for new students, during their Initial Session)
